Hail the Harp! Opportunities for Players & Audiences!

Opportunities abound for harp players and harp audiences as part of Edinboro University’s Highland Games and Scottish Festival from September 7 – 10, 2017.

  • Thursday, Sept. 7:  The Magic of the Harp.  International Folk Harpers Sharon Knowles and Carol Kappus will present an evening of traditional harp music, stories, and song from Ireland and Scotland.  7 – 9 PM.  Fairview Presbyterian Church,  4264 Avonia Rd,. Fairview, PA.
  • Friday, Sept. 8:  Come Try a Harp.  A workshop open to the public, offering a chance for a “hands-on-harp”  experience.  1:30 – 2:30 PM.  First United Presbyterian Church,  4281 Rte 6N, Edinboro, PA.
  • Friday, Sept. 8:  Folk Harp Showcase.  Featuring both local and world class harpers sharing their love of the instrument as we kick off the Edinboro 2017 Highland Games.  A Community Event.  Cost:  a donation of food staples for the Edinboro Food Pantry  (find their bin at the door.)  3–5:30 PM.  First United Presbyterian,  Edinboro.
  • Saturday, Sept. 9:  Scottish Harp Society of America sanctioned competitions and the US National Scottish Harp Championship™.   9:00AM – 5:00PM.  Edinboro University, Main Campus, Pogue Student Center.
